SPRECKELSVILLE REAL ESTATE

Spreckelsville Real Estate

Spreckelsville is small community northwest of Paia and is named after entrepreneur, Claus Spreckels.  Originally from Germany, Claus Spreckels purchased a vast amount of land in the 1800's and began the cultivation of sugar cane.  The vast surroundings of land from Haiku to Kahului were cultivated by the company he founded called Hawaiian Commercial & Sugar Company (HC&S).  Today, HC&S still exists and Maui is the only island in Hawai'i that continues to grow sugar.

Today, the community known as "Spreckelsville" is surrounded by sugar cane fields and outcropping of coastal homes.  Maui Country Club is located within Spreckelsville with its 9 hole golf course, tennis facilities, pool, restaurant and club house.  Nearby is Baldwin Beach Park and famous “Baby Beach” a tranquil tidal pool ideal for families with young children.  The community remains populated by a mixture of old kama’aina families, active ocean enthusiasts and residents who love the moderate trade wind weather and convenience of this Maui North Shore neighborhood.

The Kaunoa Senior Center nearby offers a variety of classes and social gatherings for those 55 and older.   A two mile bike path runs from Kaunoa to Kanaha Beach Park.

Spreckelsville is within walking distance to Paia Town and 10 minutes to Kahului Airport and the Kahului commercial area. This coastal community is idyllic for the active lifestyle.
